STRUCTURE DESCRIPTION

The Rodellosso estate is situated in the heart of the Val D’Orcia area, just a moment away from Pienza. The stone construction is on the top of a hill overlooking the greenery of the Tuscan countryside. Our love for this area has aided us in preserving the beauty natural beauty surrounding the villa. The careful restructuring of the farmhouse, built in the 1300s came from the desire to offer the possibility to those who have not been in this area to appreciate to learn to appreciate it. For those who already know the area it is a opportunity to rediscover this beauty.
This ideal location may be used as a base for all cultural itineraries, the villa is surrounded by some of the most beautiful cities of art – Siena, Florence, Pienza - and by those less well known but full of segret treasures. From here one may go walking in the woods exploring one of the historic nature trails, without growing tired of the surrounding beauty. The perfect way to acquire peace and tranquillity for those who want to repose the body and mind.
Every period of the year is a good time to visit us. The nearby mountain area offers the possibility in winter to practice seasonal sports and excursions. In the summer the surrounding cities welcome you to participate in one of the numerous festivals. We will be more than pleased to show you the historic Palio and the life in the “contrada”. For those who are feeling less active on holiday, you may relax around the pool taking in the wonderful view from the villa. During springtime the wonderful colours that offers is enough to bring out the artist in all. This is a wonderful time to take out a mountain bike and go for a walk in the wood; try the home grown products and go wine tasting in one of the cantinas in Montalcino where the renowned Brunello is produced. In autumn every apartment will have its wood fire lit to relax in front of. This is also the best time to go mushroom picking in the private surrounding wood.In all the apartments there are Tuscan terracotta floors, typical wooden beams and pieces of restored antique furniture. The view from every window is equal to a watercolour painting, equally stunning but different from each apartment. The panorama changes according to the season and viewpoint from the villa: the silver of the famous Crete senesi, gold of the barley fields, purple of the foliage, the green of the springtime.
