DESCRIPTIVE INFORMATION
The large painting, created on a single surface and with a small temple-like upper section, resembles the external structure of the nearby Assumption of the Madonna by Vecchietta, located in the Cathedral.
The image depicts the Madonna and Child enthroned among angels, surrounded by Saints:
Mary Magdalene,
Philip,
James the Greater
Anne,
The upper triangular tympanum contains a Pietà between angels.
In the predella are the following:
Gabriel the Archangel,
Christ the Redeemer Blessing,
Virgin Mary of the Annunciation.
