La Torre ai Mari is in Tuscany, in the town of Sarteano, in the South of the province of Siena, 6 km from the Chiusi-Chianciano Terme tollgate of the Autostrada del Sole (A1). The hotel has a lovely position on the Cappuccini hill, 700 mt. above sea level, overlooking the village and with a beautiful view of the Val di Chiana and its three magnificent lakes of Chiusi, Montepulciano and Trasimeno. .
The hotel, is run by the owners and is a reconstructed farmhouse set in the woods and recently has been completely renovated. On the ground floor, past the reception, one enters the spacious cocktail bar (with the possibility of sitting outside, under the verandah), where in a confortable and elegant atmosphere it’s possible to relax with aperitifs accompanied by canapés, fine wines or vintage spirits, or move on to have dinner in the panoramic restaurant, true pride of the hotel, and taste the sophisticated but succulent dishes of our chef, Marco Offidani.
On the first and second floor are ten double rooms and four single rooms, characterized, as the rest of the hotel, by cozy and warm colours, all with outside line telephone, flat screen sat TV, safe, and bathroom with shower and hairdryer.
The hotel boasts also an air-conditioned room with three billiards, available to all guests fond of the game, where the billiard teaching courses, for the duration of a week and tought by internationally renowned players, take place at regular intervals.
The hotel stands amid beautiful beech and oak woods and 11.000 sqm. of private parkland with ample parking area, tennis court, outdoor bowling alley and a swimming pool with solarium overlooking the valley below where our guests can relax in peace and tranquillity difficult to find elsewhere. For those interested in trekking and mountain bike there are wonderful tours starting from the hotel.
Though completely surrounded by the parkland of the Tuscan countryside, guests have the possibility to reach easily the centre of the village by foot, to enjoy the many Spa facilities of Chianciano Terme, San Casciano dei Bagni, Sant’Albino, Bagno Vignoni, Bagno San Filippo, or to visit art cities which are a short distance away like Siena, Arezzo,Perugia, Assisi, Montepulciano, Pienza, Montalcino, as well as many less well-known towns but just as beautiful and rich of precious testimonies from the past.
