We start from the center of Montepulciano to take the SS 146 and turn left towards Chianciano. After about 2 km turn right onto the road for Monticchiello. After about 4 km, in San Carlo, we leave the paved road to merge onto the dirt road leading to La Foce, walk along the ridge that traces the boundary between the Val di Chiana and Val d'Orcia. In La Foce continue downhill towards Chianciano Terme. After crossing the spa town turn right along the road that leads down to Montallese, Chiusi and the exit of the A1. After about 7 km pass the 'highway to take the SS 326 where you turn left continuing for just over 3 miles, until you reach the fork on the right into the lake of Montepulciano. From The Shed, we continue to S.S. 454 in places Sant'Adele Farm where you turn left and then turn quickly on the SS 326 to Salcheto. We move in the direction of continuing to the junction of Acquaviva Nottola. From here you take the long ascent, after about 7 km leads ar Montepulciano.
