The chapel links its name to the ancient tradition of resting one’s head on a large concave stone , placed outside the chapel and of addressing one’s prayers to the Madonna, so that She may free her devotees from their pain. Inside, there’s a fresco representing a “Madonna in Glory” by Sienese school and dated XVIth century.
