La struttura della chiesa vista all'arrivo a Montepulciano

It was built in 1285 and it was totally restored during the XVth century. The lower part of the facade, scanned by grooved pilasters , above which stand niches that frame the portal, with a lunette in terracotta, that represents the Madonna with Saint John the Baptist and Saint Augustine was realized by Michelozzo Bartolomeo. The upper part of the facade was completed later on. The restoration during 1784- 1791 changed the original plant, of which only the single nave remains. In the interior of the church one can admire a few art works as “The Resurrection of Lazarus” by Alessandro Allori, “Saint Bernardino “ by Giovanni di Paolo, a polychrome wooden “Crucifix by Antonio da Sangallo, a “Crucifixion” by Lorenzo di Credi.
